Everyone knows the MacBook Pro throws off a lot of heat so I wasn’t sure what to expect with the new MacBook. I dropped into the Manhattan Beach Apple Store and was surprised to find the new MacBook cool to the touch.

MSNBC posted a story about a woman who attempted to steal a 6-month baby in my neighborhood. The location was the Bank of America at Avenue H and PCH - mere blocks away from my own ’stead. The would-be kidnapper didn’t succeed but this says something about the neighborhood. I wouldn’t call it an “upscale shopping area” unless your idea of such is block after block of post-war shopping strips, but it’s nice.

On Friday I was greeted with a nice note from my hosting provider that “my CPU utilization had exceed 80% for six hours (a two days).” That was a head-scratcher since nothing is (normally) running on the server to drive up the CPU. After some quick digging what I discovered was akin to a cholesterol-clogged artery of spam.

Say you’re like me and run two computers: Mac and Windows. I run them through a KVM switch with a Mac keyboard but maybe you’ve got a shiny new Mac running Boot Camp and Windows XP. Have you tried using your Mac keyboard under Windows and found the keys just don’t match up? Here’s an easy, and free, solution.
