Gadget addiction: the new “second hand smoke?”
Living in LA and doing some business in entertainment, I get the opportunity to go to private screenings. They’re great: private theater, clean floor and seats, no kids, no noise. The attendees are usually professionals in the film industry and respect those around them.
But this one woman couldn’t get enough of her Blackberry during a recent film.
About every 20 minutes she would look at it, the backlit screen piercing the darkness like a search light. Maybe she was waiting for an important email but why be sitting in a theater if it’s so critical?
It seemed more like gadget addiction: can’t unplug unless you’re asleep or lying dead in a ditch.
If you’re going to do your “gadget crack” please stay downwind from me so I’m not subjected to it.
