I perform computer consulting in my part-time - a 99% Windows world. I switched to Mac and haven’t skipped a beat except for Microsoft Access which is the worst database package in existence anyway.

Everything I can do with Windows I can do with Mac - better. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Quicken, Photoshop. And now I’ve got a full blown UNIX operating system with the ease of the Mac GUI and none of the hassles of Linux compatibility.

Every day I use the Mac I understand why it’s a better OS. Mostly little things that Windows users have long ignored because they think there is nothing else. For anyone wondering, here is the classic profile of a Windows user:

1) They are cheap and never pay for software. Since they don’t know anyone with a Mac why bother if they have to actually pay for something.

2) They think nothing else is compatible. Most people use Office and Quicken. Bingo, Mac has both.

3) Windows has all the games. OK, there are more games for Windows but really who cares? Boys between the ages of 14 and 23 because they have nothing else to do in school or don’t have a life. Incidentally, there are plenty of recent games for Mac. With consoles like the PS3 and Xbox 360 the Windows platform will be more of a hassle to keep up with.

With every post I’ll point out why the Mac does something better than Windows. I’ll even explain how to do it with Windows and what you’ll need to do or buy.
