The arbitrary results of the Paste (Command V) command are a hassle. You may get text which matches the destination formatting or you might get Rich Text. Many times I need to paste/copy using a plain text editor to get the proper results.
Some wise soul discovered you can override the traditional Paste function to become Paste and Match Style.
