The Life of Illu

Published by Eric at 1:04 pm under Film & Video

We bloggers get to dance around the Web 2.0 landscape, looking down on sites that don’t use AJAX and shocked that not everyone we know uses an RSS reader. As individuals we can move quickly, learn what’s new, and throw caution to the wind.

What about big Fortune 500 companies? They can probably avoid many Web 2.0 technical trends (except RSS) for awhile longer but not the social networking ones. Or the YouTube phenomenon. Every company that airs TV ads should be putting them onto YouTube because there’s no reason not to.

Some go a step further and decide how YouTube can make their product more fun. Enter “The Life of Illu” created in an afternoon by my wife and a handful of people from Neutrogena’s marketing department. It’s cute (you’ll see my son’s dinosaur puppet in a featured role) to watch cleansing pads determine their place in the world and battle pore-clogging oil from lunch.

“The Life of Illu” is more of an experiment. Who will watch? Are they in the target demographic? What will they comment?
